Bias Tape, or Bias Binding, is made from strips of fabric that is cut on the bias (on the cross of the grain of fabric) which gives it a slight stretch. Bias binding is used because it will bend to a curved edge of fabric without puckering, and this makes it ideal to bind raw edges that are cut on a curve, such as round armholes or round a neck.
Bias Binding is available to buy ready made by the metre or you can make your own with the help of a Bias Maker.
